- Theology of Ministry with Young People
I think first and foremost our view of “Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors” is very important to young people. That our church be open to all to receive God’s grace and love. Personally, it was what drew me to becoming a Methodist. As I work with congregations, there are a couple of perspectives that I feel are important to understanding young people, empowering kids through community building and connections which was researched and developed by the Search Institute through the 40 Developmental Assets, The other is the perspective of “The Godbearing Life” the art of soul tending which looks as youth as the church of the “now” and not the church of the future. Connection through value, purpose and relationships with our young people.
- How will connecting with me support your ministry?
I am told I am very perceptive, and am able to listen well and give objective feedback and support. I have extensive training in outcome based ministry which allows for a minstry plan of focus and accountability to achieve goals and vision. I have had years of experience working with young people in various settings in and out of ministry; and have been a mentor in previous settings with those wishing to do great things in the lives of young people.
